Washington Park Inn

My room was clean. The mattress was too soft for me. The bathroom was clean, water pressure was good, tv worked well. My co-worker liked her room, but stated the water in the shower took a while to get hot.

The room was perfectly comfortable and the property was nice, but there were a few real issues with the experience. Most significantly, the property is not staffed. I received an email ahead of time with my room number and a door code. When I arrived, the room was open so I dropped off my things and went out again. When I returned, the door code for my room did not work. After a confusing text exchange with the proprietors, I was informed I was in the wrong room. I was in the room that I had been told to use in my check-in email; every aspect of this situation could have been resolved by having staff on-site.||Additionally, the bathtub in my room was visibly dirty and when I tried to clean it the drain was somewhat blocked. Finally, this may be a personal preference but there were no water glasses or mugs in the room, and the check-in email said that there would be tea, coffee and juices available 24/7 in the guest fridge on the ground floor, but this fridge was empty when I went looking.||Again, the room was comfortable and the property is very nice. It really felt like the problems were the result of not having staff onsite and could be easily resolved.

What a gem! I absolutely loved everything about this place. Great, clean rooms, parking on site, organic coffee, milk, granola etc. a lovely, clean kitchen for guests to use. Cozy common spaces. I honestly did not want to leave and will never stay anywhere else when I come to Albany.

My husband and I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Washington Park Inn. I am particular about cleanliness, and was completely satisfied. Our room on the second floor had a large bathroom and a lovely view of the park. The location is great -- the park was beautiful to walk through, and there are many restaurants in the area (including one of my favorite coffee shops anywhere, just a few blocks down the street). Just booked our second stay.

Five stars all around. The building is beautiful, the location is safe and quiet, the rooms are spotless and beds are so comfy, and the house itself is clean and stocked with everything you need. I had a room on the first floor next to the kitchen which made it even more convenient to grab water or a late night piece of toast. If i ever come through Albany again i will hope there is a room available!

Staying in this historic property was a wonderful experience. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the common areas available for guests. The breakfast options were decent, and the kitchen provided the convenience to prepare your own meal if desired.

Old homes that are converted into hotels can be a little rough around the edges. Creaky stairs, and the occasional little hole in the wall due to decades of renovations. This hotel has those tiny flaws, but I'm still giving it 5 stars because this was the best "old hotel" I had ever stayed at. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Also, the food available to eat for free was simple but very much welcomed. The ability to use the kitchen and silverware provided by the hotel was also a nice plus. Also, I LOVE that this hotel had a streaming device already installed in my room with a small number of streaming apps free to use. That in particular is a little luxury I am EXTREMELY surprised most hotels don't have in this day and age, but am glad this hotel had. As long as you can accept that this building is a little old fashioned and a little rough around the edges, this is the best "old hotel" I've ever stumbled upon.

Thank you for providing a clean, comfortable room after we had to leave a nightmare VRBO around the corner!! The woman I spoke to was very wonderful and even offered to help with suggestions on where to eat. The room was great and loved the self-service breakfast option. We left some beers for fellow travelers, staff, or whoever could enjoy them. If we make it back to the area we will stay there again.
